No.2, The 916 series

By Kym Cox ARPS

This photograph shows light interference patterns of soap bubbles. The colours are formed by light interference - similar to the bands of colour seen when light is directed through a prism. Because the bubbles are made by a liquid which is constantly draining (due to gravity), interference patterns form. The studio light must be directed at a certain angle to see the colours.
