Rules and Conditions of Entry

General

1. The competition is open to members of The Royal Photographic Society
2. Entry is free
3.There will be a different theme each month

Entries

4. You may enter up to 5 images. This can be as a body of work, or individual images
5. Images must be the work of the sole entrant
6. Image manipulation is allowed 
7. The Society may exclude any images which, in The Society's opinion, are likely to cause significant offense
8.The Society will check membership numbers and distinctions entered, for accuracy

Selection

9. The competition will close for judging at midnight GMT at the end of each month
10. 3 winners; 2 chosen by the RPS Staff and 1 voted by the membership utilising an online voting system will be selected each month
11. No individual assessments are available and the selectors’ decision is final
12. The winning images and selected short-listed images will be displayed online shortly after the closing date
13. A selection of images from the winners and final shortlists may be used in the RPS Journal, e-RPS newsletter, The RPS website and social media pages
14. Photographers must be able to supply high res files if required

Prizes

15. Small prizes will be offered to winners on occasion throughout the year
16. There will be no cash alternatives

Personal Data

17. The Society may hold and process personal information which you are supplying, in relation to The Society or the competition
18.The Society will not pass on your email address or personal data to any third party

Copyright and Reproduction

19. The images entered into the competition must not infringe any copyright or other intellectual property right of any third party
20. If the copyright of or other intellectual property rights of any third party have been infringed, then the entrant will indemnify The Society in respect of any of these third party claims
21. The copyright of all entries remains with the photographers
22. The photographer will be credited if the image is used by The Society
23. The Society reserves the right to reproduce, without payment, any images for publicity and promotion purposes in connection with the competition and The Society’s activities, including within The Society’s Journal and website for up to three years from their submission.
